
To be held on The Common, the Platinum Jubilee Market will host a wide and varied selection of stalls. There will be food, crafts, home wear and much more.
Open air screening of ‘Live Platinum Party at The Palace’
Broadcast live on BBC One, BBC iPlayer and supported across the entire BBC network, the Platinum Party at the Palace on Saturday, 4th June, will bring together the world’s biggest entertainers to perform in front of Her Majesty The Queen at Buckingham Palace. The event will feature an incredible range of highlights from global music stars with a full, live orchestra – to actors from film, TV and the stage telling the story and celebrating some of the most significant cultural moments from The Queen’s seven decade reign.
Held within the grounds of the ruined Walden Castle, Saffron Walden Town Council in association with Saffron Walden Museum bring this FREE live celebration concert to the community of Saffron Walden. A cross generational event, suitable for families, couples and groups of friends alike.
Food will be available on site but there will be no bar, feel free to bring food and drinks but no glass please.
This is a free event but you will need a ticket which can be collected from the Tourist Information Centre, be quick as capacity is limited!
Entry to the Castle Grounds is from 7pm with the live concert starting at 8pm.
Running alongside and throughout the weekend are:
- A manmade beach with deck chairs on The Common
- Circus performances from Santos Circus; two performances each day – 2pm and 5pm. Tickets are to be purchased directly from Santos Circus.
- Jubilee Arts & Crafts drop-in workshop on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd
- Photographic and archive display on Thurs 2nd and Friday 3rd – images and memorabilia from the Queen’s Coronation and through each of the Jubilee celebrations.
