Bandstand Season for Saffron Walden

Saffron Walden Town Council is excited to launch its first Bandstand Season on Saturday 10 June.  It will run weekly on Saturdays between 12 noon and 2pm from the bandstand in Jubilee Garden, CB10 1EH.

From jazz to funk, and choirs to theatrical performances, all genres are covered – there will be something for everyone.   Said a Town Council spokesperson, “these casual lunchtime sessions are FREE to attend – no need to book, just pop in, relax and enjoy the music.”

 

First up on Sat 10 June is Hadstock Silver Band with a diverse mix of brass band classics and popular music.  Said Di Pannell, the bands’ Musical Director, “ we are delighted to be taking part in this exciting season of music for Saffron Walden and surrounding villages – with this a new venue for our band, we are all very much looking forward to it.”

With inclusivity and accessibility at the heart of SWTC’s application to The National Lottery Awards for All,  the grant received for the Coronation Celebrations will see a portable ramp funded for the bandstand and put to good use for the forthcoming events.
