Town and District Council support The RideLondon Classique Cycle Race!

This coming Friday 26th May, Saffron Walden Town Council (SWTC) and Uttlesford District Council (UDC) are both delighted to be supporting the RideLondon Classique Cycle Race, with a ‘Pitstop’ event in Jubilee Garden, Saffron Walden, CB10 1EH.

King Street and Market Square in Saffron Walden will host the Start Area of the race where everyone is welcome to watch the riders roll-out from the historic town.  It’s free to watch and no advance booking is required.

From 9.30am you can grab a tea or coffee at Jubilee Garden, Hill Street, CB10 1EH and then catch a glimpse of the world’s best women riders as they prepare for the race.  Once the race starts at 11:00, riders will leave Saffron Walden and head towards Audley End House where they will continue to Littlebury Green and Clavering. The race will then head back to Saffron Walden via Wendens Ambo for approximately 11.40am.

Hill Street will be a great spot to cheer the riders through! From 11am until 1pm, take a pitstop into Jubilee Garden where refreshments will be available with music from the bandstand.  You will be able to take the ‘Bike Challenge’ with 1Life Lord Butler fitness & leisure centre; the prize for the winner will be a free 1-month membership – and everyone taking part will be entitled to a 3-day pass too!  There will also be an opportunity to make a smoothie from pedal power – great for you and the planet!  Also joining the fun is Saffron Walden Library with a pop-up stall.
