There are a number of free and chargeable events happening for children during the school summer holidays.
- Free summer Square events (Fridays in the Market Place, arranged by Saffron Walden Town Council)
- Little Learners on the Castle Lawn (certain Tuesdays, in conjunction with Saffron Walden Museum)
- Free “Making It Mindful” workshops on Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Summer Activity Camps in Great Chesterford (Super Star Sports)
- Free Gadgeteers Reading Challenge (arranged by Saffron Walden Library)
- Instrumentalists’ courses (arranged by Saffron Walden Children’s Orchestra)
- Selection of children’s films at Saffron Screen

Alternatively, please check the noticeboard at the side of the Town Hall, which currently has a panel dedicated to children’s events.
Finally, do remember that Bridge End Garden and the hedge maze, the Common and the turf labyrinth, and the children’s playgrounds at Catons’ Lane, The Common and Golden Acre , are all free!
