The famous art pottery “Moorcroft”, which has been making pieces by hand since 1897, has created a vase called “Saffron Gold” especially for Saffron Walden. The vase stands 5” tall (approximately 12.5cms) and features the saffron crocus, Crocus sativus.  The vase can be purchased exclusively at Saffron Walden Tourist Information Centre (TIC) until 3^rd September, when it will be officially launched at a special event in Thaxted to mark 35 years of Hugh & Maureen Edwards’ stewardship of the pottery.

Interested customers can pre-order the vase from the TIC either in person, at 1, Market Place, or via the website: https://www.visitsaffronwalden.gov.uk/product/saffron-gold-vase-by-moorcroft/ . The vases are expected to arrive in mid-August.
