Description
A new book published by Emma Mason in association with The Fry Art Gallery. Artist and teacher, Walter Hoyle went to study at Beckenham School of Art before gaining a scholarship to study at the Royal College of Art. This book tells the story of Hoyle’s life in Great Bardfield and his friendships with fellow artists including Edward Bawden, and John Aldridge, George Chapman Sheila Robinson, Marianne Straub and Michael Rothenstein. Hoyle’s work was varied and his love of printmaking was to influence a generation of students.
