Description
With Colchester laying claim to being Britain’s oldest recorded town, and Southend boasting the longest pleasure pier in the world, it is well-known that Essex plays host to a number of important historical landmarks. However, the country also harbours its unsung heroes, such as the highest point in East Anglia, one of the largest brick-built structures in the country, the biggest turf-maze in the world and lots of other weird and wonderful sights. Many are best viewed on foot, we have gathered together our favourite of these lesser-known “obscurities” and made them a focus for this book of circular walks.
