Saffron Walden Town Council (SWTC) is thrilled to be introducing its first ‘Pop Up Start Up Market’ on Thursday 26 October, in the Market Square from 9am until 3pm. Funding from the Shared Prosperity Fund* is allowing the Town Council to provide the first in a series of additional markets, aimed at supporting new traders and small businesses. All traders attending are situated in Uttlesford and new to the market; they will be offering a wide range of wares, many of which are personally hand made. For some this is their first business experience of trading face-to-face (rather than online) – exactly the type of business the Governments Levelling Up agenda is aimed at.
To add to the excitement of the day and also funded by the Shared Prosperity Fund, SWTC will be hosting some FREE half term family activities, in the Market Square from 10am – 2pm. Complementing the new market, the activities will include; Halloween crafts, games and performance from Saffron Hall’s pantomime ‘Cinderella’, FREE face painting and live music.
Said a Town Council spokesperson “The Pop Up Start Up Market is an excellent opening for new traders; do come and support these local creatives and enjoy the FREE family activities!”
Further markets in this series are planned; a two day indoor market on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 February 2024 in The Town Hall, aimed at young (18 – 30 year olds) entrepreneurs, and a Spring time one planned for April 2024.
