FREE wellbeing event to celebrate International Day of Happiness
Saffron Walden Town Council (SWTC) and Mind in West Essex are collaborating to provide a community wellbeing event on Monday 20th March between 10am and 4pm. The event will mark and celebrate “International day of happiness” and is open to everyone – with the aim to illustrate different ways to help improve one’s mood, and thus in turn feel happier. Many factors can affect this such as; the cost of living, being unemployed, suffering with anxiety and depression and feeling overwhelmed.
Drop into the event throughout the day where a selection of activities to give you the tools to help boost your mood, will be available. Residents can also book onto the free interactive workshop, ‘5 ways to wellbeing’, which will take place between 12 noon and 3pm. Places are limited and booking is essential; https://mentalhealthtraining.org.uk/five-ways-to-wellbeing/
Other partners including UCAN, Saffron Walden Library and 1Life will be on hand with information and activities to enhance wellbeing and happiness.
Both SWTC and Mind in West Essex will be merging their usual Monday warm welcome drop-in hubs with this event, all at The Garden Room. A member of Mind in West Essex team will be available to give information about all the different services on offer and how to access them. A spokesperson for Mind in West Essex said, “As a local mental health charity it is important for us to give our community access to opportunities which can help improve their mental wellbeing. One of the ways we support our community to do this is by facilitating workshops and training to increase understanding of what affects our mood.”
