On 26th July The Town Mayor, Cllr Deryk Eke officially opened the beach with cast members from Saffron Hall cast of Treasure Island.
SWTC ensures that it delivers value for money; by providing regular community events for FREE and by maintaining public open space and communal green outdoor areas for residents to enjoy – so set sail for songs, plenty of adventure and photo opportunities with the cast until 4.30pm!
The support from local businesses and Uttlesford District Council (UDC) is always welcome. Said a SWTC spokesperson, “Special thanks to our sponsors, Pottrill Holland Property Agents, Cannon Architectural Design and Uttlesford District Council (Cllr Chloe Fiddy and Cllr Dan McBirnie) for supporting this year’s beach build for the summer holidays”,
Said Cllr Dan McBirnie, “The summer holidays can be a tricky time for residents who are juggling work, childcare and the family budget. I’m delighted to be able to use some of my UDC grant to support this amazing free-to-use facility for the families and children of Saffron Walden.”
From Saturday 27 July until Monday 26 August, the beach will be open between 10am – 4.30pm every day.
Saffron Walden Town Council look forward to seeing you there! There is no need to book, just turn up, bring a picnic mat – and enjoy the sunshine and sea breeze!
