Saffron Walden Town Band – Bandstand Season

June 20 @ 12:00 - 14:00

Bandstand Season 2026 starting this week!

Saffron Walden Town Council’s (SWTC) Bandstand Season starts this Saturday 20 June.

The season will commence with Saffron Walden Town Band – the community wind band, comprising woodwind, brass and percussion instruments will entertain with a programme of music from classical to popular pieces.  Said Musical Director, Simon Mariner-Goff, “Saffron Walden Town Band is delighted to be a part of the 2026 Bandstand season. Everyone enjoys playing in the bandstand and entertaining all that come to listen.  This shows the band in a more relaxed environment rather than a formal occasion. The atmosphere is always great, and the audience appreciates a free performance. The band always welcomes new players and would especially welcome brass players.”

SWTC ensures that it delivers value for money; by providing regular community events for FREE and by maintaining public open space and communal green outdoor areas for residents to enjoy – just drop in, get comfortable and enjoy the music!  SWTC welcome the financial support from local business Pottrill Holland.  This sponsorship contributes to the well-being of arts and culture in Saffron Walden.  Said Managing Director, Oliver Pottrill, “Oliver Pottrill is delighted to be this years’ Bandstand Season sponsor.  In doing so we are supporting the arts and making music accessible to all.  We look forward to working with SWTC with the upcoming Bandstand Season and seeing everyone there over the coming weeks.”

Jubilee Hub will be open throughout the Bandstand Season, every Saturday 12 noon – 2pm – with Uttlesford Community Action Network (UCAN) volunteers serving tea, coffee and cake / biscuits.  Said UCAN’s Chief Officer, Clive Emmett, “UCAN are excited to be able to support Saffron Walden Town Council’s Bandstand Season with the help of our local Volunteers. Our Volunteers are so critical to so many projects and events we are involved in and bring the added value element to us as a charity and the community as a whole”.
