In the spirit of wartime ‘Make Do and Mend’ budding sewers are being asked to use any materials they have lying around at home in bright colours to design and make bunting, including old items of clothing, offcuts, free fabric or other recycled materials.
Saffron Walden Town Council is launching this campaign to brighten up the Town and give people something to focus on whilst following the Government advice to stay at home.
We are asking people to help us cheer up Saffron Walden Town Centre with brightly coloured bunting, to help lift people’s mood as they emerge from isolation.
The bunting to be ideally no shorter than 3 metres long. We will look to put it up in the streets, along shop fronts and in the alley ways, bringing some cheer to the town after some difficult few months
Closing date for bunting is 18th May and please for now, hang on to your bunting until our offices are re-opened to the public. After 18th May, we will issue details for dropping off your artwork! If you have any questions or would like to get in touch please email Claire on firstname.lastname@example.org or call on 01799 619845
