The Fry Art Gallery displays a unique collection of paintings, prints, books and ceramics showing the artistic heritage of north west Essex, featuring Edward Bawden, Eric Ravilious, Michael Rothenstein, John Aldridge, Michael Ayrton, Grayson Perry and others, continuing to the present day, who have made a significant contribution to British Art. This year, while building works are carried out at the main gallery, the exhibitions will be held at The Fry Art Gallery Too, situated adjacent to the main gates of Saffron Walden Museum. The exhibitions for 2021 are: Lithographic Fever: ‘Britain’s Mid-Century Print Boom’ and A Singular Obsession – celebrating the centenary of Michael Ayrton.
