The gallery displays a unique collection of paintings, prints, books and ceramics showing the artistic 20th century heritage of north west Essex, featuring Edward Bawden, Eric Ravilious, Michael Rothenstein, John Aldridge, Michael Ayrton and others, continuing to the present day, who have made a significant contribution to British Art. Changing exhibitions and events programme.

Opening details

Open without charge from the first Sunday in April to the last Sunday in October at the following times: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 2.00 - 5.00pm, Sunday and Bank Holiday afternoons from 2.15 - 5.00pm and on Saturdays from 11.00am - 5.00pm.

From the M11: After exit 10, follow signposts to Saffron Walden, and approaching the town use signposted public car park and then walk to Castle Street. Entry to the gallery is via a footpath from Castle Street, a turning off the town's High Street near the prominent Church. There are 4 public car parks within easy walking distance.
