Saffron Walden is easily reached from London via the M11 (exit junction 8, initially follow the signs for A120 Hertford, then B1383 for Saffron Walden)

Travelling from Cambridge, exit the M11 at junction 10 and follow the signs to Saffron Walden (A505, A1301, B184).

NB. Junction 9 of the M11 is restricted access.

By rail

National Express East Anglia runs fast trains between Cambridge & London Liverpool Street stations. Audley End station is located on this line and is 2 miles (3km) from Saffron Walden.
Bus services 301 and 59 connect the station with the town, and there are usually taxis waiting at the station.

Central Trains connect Stansted Airport with Audley End, Cambridge, and Birmingham.
